Teign Estuary Medical Group is accredited by the Royal College of General Practitioners for Research Ready – Advanced status. We are also one of the few Sessional (top tier) Research Practices in the South West.
A lot of the research carried out at the practice is done in-house, meaning that we do not share information with Universities or Researchers without patient’s explicit consent. You may receive a letter from the practice inviting you to take part in a clinical trial or research study that we are working on at the practice, in conjuction with the UK’s top Universities and Researchers. If you choose to take part in a clinical trial or research study, you will be asked to explicitly consent to sharing information relevant for the purpose of the study with the University and/or Research Teams. This is on a study-by-study basis and patient information leaflets will be provided based on the study you may be suitable for.
Some studies that the practice work on involve an extraction of anonomised or pseudomised data which is securely transmitted to the research team. Where studies like these are being undertaken, we will publish information relevant to the study and data extraction on this page, as well as details on how to opt-out.
